Sir Grange has been hand selected from over 10,000 different species of turf, showing superior qualities that will certainly make it stand out from the crowd. Sir Grange was originally developed in the USA for the golf industry but it was soon discovered that due to its characteristics, it would make a fantastic domestic lawn. Its adaptability to a variety of climates and its beautiful dark green leaf have seen it become the #1 selling zoysia grass in the USA. And some sporting buffs will be impressed to learn Sir Grange featured quite heavily in the specially designed Rio Olympic Golf Course.
The course was grassed using turf varieties that require less water and less fertiliser. Sir Grange created a highly-playable, lush surface. In the fairway, the ball tended to sit up as if on a tee. All the while, Sir Grange stood up to varying water quality, reduced amounts of fertiliser and water for irrigation, and choked out weeds—a major factor considering herbicides cannot be used on the site.
Sir Grange has been in development in Australia for over 5-years, originally arriving on our shores as not much more than a 200mm pot. It was painstakingly tested and grown out to produce quality product for the retail market.
Probably the most exciting aspect of Sir Grange is its usability. Suitable for both full sun and high shade locations all while featuring a narrow leaf (unlike its sister Sir Walter). Couch lovers will be rejoicing in a narrow leaf shade tolerant option and being a zoysia cultivar, requires less water and fertiliser than any other turf on the market today.
