Scoria is a highly vesicular, dark red colored volcanic rock sourced from Victoria and is basaltic or andesitic in composition.. With has a striking deep red colour, Scoria is a great addition or feature in your garden. Scoria is relatively low in mass as a result of the numerous vesicles in the stone similar to that of pumice stone. This means that 1 Tonne of Scoria stone equates to much more product by volume than other pebbles which typically weigh closer to 1.5 Tonne per m3. This is the reason that Scoria will seem comparatively far more expensive then other pebble options, but in reality when bulk densities are compared the price is far more on par.
Transportation is the other reason Scoria tends to be priced slightly higher. Scoria is trucked from Victoria where it is supplied in abundance.
0.9 Tonne = 1m3
